“Darkness to Light”
Life on the darkside,
With nothing to gain.
Seeing nothing but darkness,
Feeling nothing but pain.
It’s a pain that feels like,
It won’t ever go away.
Living on the darkside,
Day after day.
Caught up in a lifestyle,
Full of drugs and deceit.
Caught up in a lifestyle,
With no-one good to meet.
Walking around in this world
Feeling all alone.
Walking in darkness
Because I was so far gone.
Until one day
I saw a Beautiful light!
So I ran towards it
With all my might.
When I got to it,
There was no-one there.
But I wasn’t in darkness,
And no longer scared.
Then I heard a little voice,
From heaven up above.
Saying he came for me,
And that he came with love.
He said he was my shepherd
And that it was time to leave.
He said he was always there.
I just had to believe.
That it was time for me.
To pick up my cross,
It was time to follow him.
Because I was no longer lost.
Now I must say, it is truly a delight!
To walk with Jesus
And to walk in the light!!!

“Spiritual Warfare”
I awake to Music of Praise
To fuel my Spirit, and Glorify you Lord?
As, I put on my Armor,
And, aiming my self, with your sword!
I’ll begin to hum in a tune,
And, can feel my light as it shines!
With your Spirit rushing threw me,
As I praise you, my words will come in rhyme!
My feet is shod, with your Peace,
And, my shield of Faith, an honor to hold.
Victory belongs to the Tower of His Christ,
Words getting to be, Spoken in days of old.
Your breast plate of Righteousness.
My helmet of Salvation, I wear like a crown!
I completely gird myself with Truth
Praise from your Soldier, is the origin of this sound.
Honoring you in all,
Not to break rank, as we march in tight.
And, no enemy’s sword can injure or Harm!
I’m upheld by your strength and might.
Standing strong in your Anointing.
Right beside me you are always there!
Thank you Father, for calling me to duty
As your soldier in this “Spiritual Warfare!

Ephesians 6:10-18: This passage is the primary source for the imagery of the “armor of God” used throughout the poem.
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
